Is your swimming pool or spa safe?
New rules regarding pool and spa safety is now in effect in Victoria and heavy penalties apply to owners who do not comply with the new legislation.
As a pool or spa owner, you are required to register your pool or spa with your local council and arrange for a Swimming Pool and Spa Safety Barrier Inspection.
Safey barriers then need to be re-inspected every four years.

The Home Inspection Hub is qualified to conduct Swimming Pool & Spa Safety Fence & Barrier Inspections and can issue the required Certificate of Barrier Compliance.
What do I need to do?
1.Register your pool or spa with your local council, pay the required fee and provide required documentation that shows when your pool or spa was constructed. Wait for notification from your council confirming when the pool or spa was constructed. You will be advised of the date by which the first certificate of barrier compliance must be lodged with the relevant council.
2. Book a Swimming Pool & Spa Safety Fence & Barrier Inspection with The Home Inspection Hub. We will advise if the barriers are compliant and what needs to be rectified. If there are issues to rectify, a re-inspection will be required and can also be booked with us.
3. Once we have determined that the barrier is compliant, we will issue you with a Certificate of Barrier Compliance.
4. Lodge this Certificate with your local council. Barriers need to be re-inspected every four years.
